Dewey's read-a-thon: the end

                                       Dewey's read-a-thon
Hi everyone!!! :)

I think this read-a-thon has been the most strange read-a-thon for me so far. I've read some books and I have fun, but I have read less than I expected, I haven't visited as bloggers as last read-a-thon and I was so tired at night that I went to bed and I had just put my head in the pillow, I was slept :O I normally have time for everything, but this time I don't know why I didn't have time for anything. I wish I could cheer up people even I wasn't a cheerleader and have time to talk with you, guys,. I don't know what I did with the time :(

But anyway, this is My End of event meme
  1. Which hour was most daunting for you?   Hour 12, when I realised that I was so tired that I couldn't carry on :'(
  2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? For me Dangerous curves by Maitena was a treat. I highly recommend it :)
  3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? No, I like the way it is
  4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? I think it was Twitter. i liked I was able to see who was posting something new in their blogs.
  5. How many books did you read? 3
  6. What were the names of the books you read? Return of the bunny suicides by Andy Riley, Dangerous Curves by Maitena and D.I.Y. Dentistry by Andy Riley.
  7. Which book did you enjoy most? Dangerous Curves by Maitena. I laughed a looooot.
  8. Which did you enjoy least? D.I.Y. Dentristry by Andy Riley. Although I laughed hard in some pages, I think some of the ìctures were a bit disgusting :(
  9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?
  10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? I think I'm going to be a reader again, but some day I want to try to be a cheerleader :)

Well, this is my final wrap-up. How your read-a-thon was? Let me know in the comments or share with me your link!!! :)

Hi everyone!!! :)

I've seen the sentence challenge in Midnight Book Girl and The Fake Steph and I want to participate. The only thing you have to do is browsing your shelves and take books whose titles form a sentence.

Well, this is me, but what about you? Let me know in the comments :)

Dewey's read-a-thon is almost here!!! :O

Hi everyone!!! :)

So today it's the big day : Dewey's read-a-thon is here. I'm really excited about it. I like spending the day reading while I see what others are reading. I don't have many people who have the love I have for books, so this means a lot for me, have people who have the same passion and we can read books and talk about them, that makes me happy and I'm not feeling alone any more. Thanks, guys! :)

Through the day I'll be posing about the read-a-thon, about challenges and ideas the hosts come up with, but first of all I want to share my bounty. I think there are way too many books, but I didn't know what it was going to be the mood for this day, so I thought, what the hell, and try to add as many books as I could.

So, here they are:

So, you can divide the books in short books (between 100- 250 pages)

L8r, g8r by Lauren Myracle
El lazarillo de Tormes (The life of Lazarillo de Tormes)
Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris.
One by Richard Bach.
On the bright side I'm now the girlfriend of a Sex God by Louise Renninson.
The three first book in the series  A Series of Unfortunate Events
Hex hall Rachel Hawkins
Hypnotizing Maria by
Stranger and Stranger (Emily the Strange Novels #2)by
Books of short stories

M is for Magic by Neil Gaiman
The ladies of Grace Adieu by Susanna Clarke

And finally, graphic novels

Return of the bunny suicides by Andy Riley
I'm not anti-business, I'm anti-idiot by Scott Adams
D.I.Y Dentistry by Andy Riley.
Curvas peligrosas (Dangerous curves) by Maitena

Well, so here are my books . What have you decided to read? Let me know in the comments :)

Something different: A-Z tag

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you something different. Several months before I started watching book lovers' videos on Youtube. Most of the time they were book hauls, what I read this month or what I want to read next, but recently, I've been watching more and more videos in which you can answer questions about books, look for books in your shelves and have discussions about books. They are always interesting and since I love books I thought it would be interesting.

Today I want to share with you this tag. The tag consists of finding books which starts with the letter A, another by the letter B, etc. I don't explain it very well, but you understand the whole thing when you watch the video.

I hope you guys like it and thanks for spending your time watching it. I appreciate it :)

Did you like it? Do you want to do the same? Let me know in the comments :)

Top Ten Books I Liked More/Less Than I Thought I did

hosted by: The Book and the Bookish

Hi everyone!!! :)

It's a week since the last time I wrote and, although I am not feeling very well, I want to share with you the books I thought I'd like more/less than I did.

I thought I'd like more that I did

The tiny wife by Andrew Kaufman. I like stories which are strange and different and shows worlds on their own. I really like them. I thought this book was going to be strange, and it was, but not in the way I like, so this book disappointed me.

The tiny men by Juan José Millás. The same happens with this book. The story is about a man who starts seeing tiny men and I thought OMG I'm going to love this story. It sounds terrific and then I read it and I was: Yes, it's OK :(

Something wicked came this way by Ray Bradbury. I like books by Ray Bradbury and I really want to read this one because I thought it was going to be an awesome read. I started reading it and the more I read the less I liked, but I kept pushing me to finish because I really wanted to give it a try.

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. Well, this one is different from the rest. I liked it and I liked the beginning of the book a lot. The thing is I love the rest of the books by Neil Gaiman from one cover to the other, but this one was really good at the beginning and the rest was good, but not great.

Possession by A.S. Byatt. I was really really excited about this book, but when I read it, it left me dissatisfied. I expected much more I found in the book, but maybe, in this case, was because of my level of English. Maybe I missed something important.

I thought I'd like less than I did

The sisterhood of the travelling pants by Ann Brashares. OMG I really love this book. I thought it would be only for children, so I read a few pages and I was going to put aside when I read some more and I couldn't put it down :)

Lola and the boy next door by Stephanie Perkins. I thought Anna and the French Kiss was great and I was reluctant to read this one because I though I wasn't going to love it as much as I did with Anna and the French Kiss. Luckily I was wrong :D

Dark until dead by Charlaine Harris. Another book which surprised me a lot. I love vampires, but since now they are fashion and they are everywhere, I thought I wasn't going to love this book. Plus, I'd seen some minutes of the series and it seemed to me a bit dark.  But once I grabbed the book, I couldn't put it down, so I'm glad that I gave it a chance :)

Simple Irresistible by Jill Shavis. I started reading this book because I'd heard it was good and everything, but since it was romance I thought I wasn't going to love it.
It is not just the romance, it's everything: the story, the characters, the dialogues, everything is so well-built that it's impossible not to fall in love with the story. I liked this book so much that I bought the whole series :D

Beastly by Alex Finn. I'd seen this book in several libraries, but I thought it was not the kind of book I like, so I put aside, but then the film, which is based on this book,  was emitted on TV and al thought I saw some minutes I wanted to read this book because it seems to be a great book. I borrowed from the library and I read very quickly because it was so great that I couldn't put aside. Yeeeah, two thumbs up!!! :)

Well, these are my books, do you think the same as me or you had a different experience? Let me know in the comments and share with me yours!!! :D

Build a Better Life by Stealing Office Supplies (Dilbert, #2)by Scott Adams. I'm reserving this one for Dewey's marathon. I really want to read it very much, just looking the cover makes me laugh.

In My Mailbox: Give me baby, one more time :)

                                            hosted by: The Story Siren

Hi everyone!!! :)

So, the other day a new book came to my house. My partner had ordered several books and all of them arrived at the same time except this one. We thought we had lost, but unexpectedly, this one arrived this week

Yes, I'm really excited about this book. I've heard nothing, but good things about it and about Maureen Johnson. I hope I like it :)

The other day I went to my library and borrowed all these books:

  • Dawn of the Bunny Suicides (Books of the Bunny Suicides #3)by
  • Hypnotizing Maria by
  • The Lonely Hearts Club by
  • Build a Better Life by Stealing Office Supplies (Dilbert #2)by
  • Nemi (Nemi #1)by
Since Dewey's read-a-thon is almost here I want to have some books which I want to read and at the same time are short because since I am a slow reader I found impossible to finish many books in other occasions so this is a way at least to read something :)

Well, this is all I wanted to share with you. Do you know the books? Let me know in the comments and share with me what there is in your mailbox! :D

Sundays in bed with... with the same book :'(

  hosted by: Midnight Book Girl

Hi everyone!!! :)

Well, today I'm bringing the same book. I'm reading this one little by little because it's really great and I don't want to finish it. It's beautiful, but at the same time it's a bit sad, so that's the other reason why it's taking me so long to finish this book.

La vida imaginaria

As I said before, I really love this book. It's cute, adorable and a bit, just a bit sad. I love the main character because she is interesting and the way the author writes is awesome. I hope she writes more novels (This is her first one)

So, this is my book. Did you know it? Have you read it? if so, did you like it? Let me know in the comments and share with me yours! :)

Wednesday of review: The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you my review of this book:

 Duchess of Bloomsbury Street

What is this about?: it's the trip Helene Hanff does to the city of London, what people she meets there, what places she goes and what experiences she has there.

What I liked: I liked that it was in diary format and the story happened in real life,  that the book was non-fiction.

I liked it was really easy to get into the story and sometimes I didn't know where I was. I really love that feeling :)

There were references to books and she found places in London where some novels scenes had happened in those places. That is the case, for instance, of one Noël Coward's novel. The characters of his novel eat at Claridge's. So when she saw the place, she remembers that scene. She is with two friends, but since they aren't wearing formal clothes, she is about to leave, but one of her friends convinces her to go inside and have lunch.

I don't want to give away too much of this book.  I just want to say I really liked the story of the ghost, even if it's very short :)

The way she writes the book. She makes things seem to be interesting and you want to go to London right away. I liked how she explained everything because I can easily imagine those places and if I went to London again, I think, I could make the same routes as she did.

I loved somebody called her The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street and she was so eccentric that she started calling herself in that way :)

What I didn't like: The fact Frank and Helene couldn't meet in person. Like is sometimes like this.

Overall: I really enjoyed the book very much because the author was very funny and entertaining :)

Top Ten Favorite Books I Read Before I Was A Blogger

hosted by: The Book and the Bookish

Hi everyone!!! :)

Today I want to share with you my top ten favourite books I read before I was a blogger. Since I'm a book blogger, I come across amazing books thanks to your recommendation (Thanks a lot!) so most of my favourite books are book lovers recommendations. Although I have read, I think, all of my life, it's been a bit difficult to find these 10 books, but here they are:

Coraline

Coraline by Neil Gaiman. I read this book at night because it was the only moment I had time to read, and it scared me a lot. I think it's my favourite book of all Neil Gaiman's books. I highly recommend it to you and the rest of Neil Gaiman's books. They are great! I also read the graphic novel and I loved too :)

The Brooklyn Follies

The Brooklyn Follies by Paul Auster. i love Paul Auster's books (well, not all of them, but most of them) and this one is my favourite. It's well-written, I loved the story and come on, it talks about books and libraries and bookshops. It's impossible not to love it.

Tuesdays With Morrie

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Alborn. I really loved this book because Morrie was a very wise and entertaining person. I totally understand why the author decided to write about it. I remembered practically jumping in my bed and turned pages as quick as I could because I was totally in the story. I loved it and I highly recommend it to you :)

Persepolis

Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. I really loved this book, in fact, I bought it just to have it and re-read it some time. I think I'm going to do it soon because it was an amazing read. It was very funny, thought, well-written and Marjani explains everything so well that you start understanding some political and religious situation are happening today. I loved it and yes, I highly recommend it to you.

Comme un roman

Comme un roman(Better than Life) by Daniel Pennac. I had heard this book was good, but OMG, when I started reading it, I felt changed. in this book, Daniel talks about books and how to make people read books, how you can make somebody fall in love with a book and that person wanted to keep reading. I think everybody should read this book because how many times I've heard somebody tells me: I don't like reading or I don't have time to read or what is the point of reading. I think this book explains very well how to make teenagers want to read and feel free to read or not. I loved it so much that I bought in French. Yes, it was great! :)

Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Height by Emily Brontë. Oh my gosh, I think I'd tried to read this book many many times and I always left aside. One day I decided to give it a change and push me to read at least a chapter. Wow, I'm so grateful I did so, because once I read the chapter, I couldn't put the book down. I think I read it in 3 days. I remember doing nothing else than read :)

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1)

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by

Slaloms (Les Formidables Aventures De Lapinot, #0)

Visión de Nueva York

The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing
